Submission Guidelines
Thank you for your interest in submitting your work to the Black Flowers Arts Journal. Please find more details below.
What we publish
Black Flowers is looking for essays, specifically literary, art and esoteric journalism within the realm of books, art and magic. These can have a personal spin but with a more structured approach. It is a good idea to have a look around the site to see what we have published in the past to familiarise yourself with the content.
Please note that we are not accepting poetry and fiction at this time.
Submit your idea
Please submit your idea in the shape of a brief. Please fill out the required fields in the submission form below, including your name, contact information and a summary of what your piece is about, a rough estimate of a word count and any other details you feel are relevant.
Once your idea has been submitted and reviewed by the editor, we will let you know whether we would like to read the final piece.
Important
Please do not send fragments of your work - a full structured brief is needed to evaluate the work. Does the brief accurately summarise the contents of the essay?
Do not send the whole piece to us in the first instance.
Due to the volume of submissions, we cannot offer individual feedback on all submissions.
We reserve the right to feature accepted work on our website and social media platforms as part of our promotional activities.
We regret that we cannot pay contributors at this time but will support them in promoting their work online.
