A Goodbye to Black Flowers
As time goes on, I feel myself changing. I feel myself growing. Although I still love the same things in life, I am very much going in a different direction — one that feels quieter, clearer and full of new adventures.
Black Flowers has been a special place for over six years but lately, I have realised that I am outgrowing it. Many online and print journals have drowned in the sea that is the internet and I don’t see this closure as a failure but as a success story that has just come to the end of its life – giving birth to something new. Now, I want to make space for what comes next. I don’t know what that will be or in what shape that will take but I am both excited and sad - a paradox I am trying to get my head around.
So, this is my goodbye. This is my heartfelt thank you to everyone who has written for me, taken part in our little community and shared their amazing work with me.
I will be archiving the Black Flowers Arts Journal issues as digital magazines online. I will be opening up a newsletter to let everyone know when this archive will be available so please drop me an email at blackflowersjournal@gmail.com and I will pop you on the list.
Black Flowers ends here, but I won’t.
